Owen to undergo hernia operation

Barrow midfielder James Owen will undergo a hernia operation and could be out of action for at least six weeks.The 20-year-old has made 26 appearances for the Bluebirds this season, scoring twice, and featured in last Saturday's 1-0 home defeat by Wrexham.

Owen, a Wales under-21 international, arrived at Holker Street following his release by Chester City last season.

He made three substitute appearances for Barrow last season, making his debut against Salisbury in April 2010.
