Barrow face Chadwick injury wait

Barrow joint-boss Dave Bayliss told BBC Radio Cumbria: "He's got a bad knee so we have kept him out of action.

"He went for a scan along with Paul Jones who has an Achilles injury and we'll now wait for the results."

He's contracted to them for another two years but we will lose nothing by having a look at him over the next couple of games

Chadwick impressed in his first season for the Bluebirds after joining from financially-stricken Chester City in January 2010.

The Stoke-born forward began his career with Everton before spells with Derby County, Millwall, Plymouth Argyle, Hereford United, Shrewsbury Town and then Chester.

He scored seven times in 19 appearances for Barrow last season.

Defender Jones also faces a wait to determine the extent of his Achilles injury that has prevented the Bluebirds skipper from featuring in the club's friendly itinerary.

Peterborough United goalkeeper James McKeown also featured on trial for Barrow in the Morecambe win at Holker Street.

The 19-year-old joined Peterborough from Walsall in 2007 without making a first team appearance for the Saddlers.

The Birmingham-born Irishman, who has made six first-team appearances for Peterborough, has also had loan spells at Kettering Town and Worcester City.

Bayliss said: "He was recommended by a friend who works in the south for us and is also very well thought-of by (Preston manager and coach) Darren Ferguson and Kevin Russell when they were at Peterborough.

"He's contracted to them for another two years but we will lose nothing by having a look at him over the next couple of games."

Two goals from Paul Rutherford, and one apiece from Marc Goodfellow, Jason Walker and trialist midfielder Ceiran Donnelly helped Barrow to the comprehensive victory at Holker Street.
